Anglo-French by birth, a barrister by profession: joined F Section SOE March 1942: ordered to form the Physician/ProsperCircuitin the Paris area. Parachuted into France, 1/2 October 1942 and developed a major network covering twelve departments: returned to UK by Lysander 14/15 May 1943 for briefing. Parachuted back to France, 20/21 May but was arrested a month later as his network collapsed under vigorous attack by German security forces: interrogated at Gestapo headquarters in Paris then sent to Germany: executed at Sachsenhausen concentration camp, 18 March 1945.
